Online courses are the future. How many times did you hear this?
I totally agree with this sentence. I’ve been selling online courses for the last 5 years, and they’re my number 1 source of income.
The question isn’t if you’re selling courses, but how you sell (and promote) your course.
And if they’re the future, why are we still using funnels that are 20+ years old?
This above is the funnel I’ve been using for years. Recently I realized it wasn’t working as well as in the past.

I don’t know if you experienced the same situation with your launches, but I had similar feedback from other content creators.
Marketing and users’ behaviors are constantly changing, and so we need to adapt if we want to succeed. You can’t expect that a method doesn’t have an expiry date.
I thought long about what’s wrong nowadays with the funnel above, and I discovered that each of these funnel steps has weak spots.
Let’s analyze one step at the time.
Landing pages with email forms have an average opt-in rate of 30%. That means that the vast majority of the traffic will never access your funnel. From a business point of view, this is a complete red flag.
The average attending rate for Webinars is around 20%. Video Series are even worse: 5% of users will watch all the videos.
If you don't have hundreds of people entering your funnel, you can understand how low is the number of people who will acknowledge your offer.
These funnels are not new anymore. Almost everyone knows that your webinar or your video series is just a preview for your paid product.
They will attend your event knowing that sooner or later, you will present your offer. That's another reason why your followers don't take your event that seriously.
This series has to convince the users who didn't buy your product during your live event. Too bad that the average open rate for emails is 20% nowadays.
Can you afford to let 80% of your follow up series end in a void?
You never know when one of your emails will be automatically directed to the spam or the ad folder. Spam filters are unpredictable, and they add a huge danger to your message delivery.
